Maekonect is meant to be a network of moderate connectors and contributors who wish to encourage and facilitate people to come together and establish common ground while trying to face issues plaguing our country, cities, families, and ourselves. Right now as it is, it’s for promoting spaces where such conversations can happen, encouraging people to exist, persist, and resist the call to that dark night.
We got started in 2024. It is when Maekonect was brought from a virtual space to a real world idea from my second hospitalization for mania. My “disorder” has come to show me that society as I knew it was “out of order,” not myself. From my minds second frantic race to find solutions to the crisis facing my friends and family, Maekonect started to form. It is actively forming.
Right now, Maekonect is just An Idea slowly coming to life. This blog is a documentation of that journey, collection of thoughts and concerns as we try to make this something. It’s okay if this make little sense to you now. May it spark something within you. A desire to do something in a way that suits you best.
